The book Picturesque Canada is a unique snapsot of country as it was in 1882. I especially love the section on lumbering in the Ottawa Valley. I have incerted many of the drawings to go along with my narations in my family tree. I cannot get the link to work for Google Books, so I just cut and pasted the link below. Unlike the other links for the book I put on here the Google Books digitization shows the pictures in various shades of blacks, whites and greys, giving the drawings more detail and depth.
